Keep your family, safe, comfortable and healthy by keeping your drains properly cleaned.
Drain cleaning is an important part of your cleaning routine. If you haven’t already, check out our Belleville plumber’s latest blog to learn about why drain cleaning is so important. Now that you understand the importance of regular drain cleaning, you need to know the dos and don’ts of drain cleaning. Unfortunately, many homeowners make mistakes when they clean their drains, and these mistakes can lead to bigger issues down the road. The following is a list of just a couple of those common drain cleaning mistakes:
#1. Adding too much water pressure.
Many people try to use additional water pressure to unclog their drains and flush out their pipes. However, this can, unfortunately, start to backfire. If too much pressure builds up in your pipes, it has to go somewhere, and it will usually end up bursting back out in your direction, which will leave you with a flooded bathroom and a big mess to clean up. Leave your garden hose where it belongs, and never add increased pressure in your pipes.
#2. Using too many harsh chemicals.
Although drain cleaning chemicals may appear to get the job done for a while, they are really just a band-aid solution. These chemicals are just a quick fix, and they don’t really work all that well. Not only do drain cleaning chemicals fall short, but they are also incredibly harsh and can damage your pipes.
