There are so many things that you should never flush!
The fact of the matter is, there are many things that should never be flushed down the toilet. In our last blog series, our Belleville plumber went over many of those things, and you may be surprised about several of them. With so many things not to flush, this has left many of our customers wondering what is actually safe to flush.
So, what can you safely flush?
Unfortunately, there aren’t many things that can be safely flushed. Stick to the rule of the P’s. To be blunt, poop, pee and paper (toilet paper only) are the only things that are actually safe to be flushed down the toilet, and even with these things you have to be careful sometimes. Too much of anything solid can lead to a clog, even if it is specifically meant for the toilet. The fact is, toilets are not the same as trashcans, and if you put anything foreign down your toilet, you run the risk of either clogging your own toilet and pipes or damaging the city’s sewage system.
Clogged toilets are one of the most common issues that our Belleville plumber deals with, but luckily, it is a very preventable plumbing issue. With a little know-how, it is easy to avoid clogs in your toilet and pipes, and by avoiding the “unflushables”, you can save money on plumbing repairs and keep your plumbing system in great shape.
