If you have read the last blog by our Edwardsville plumber, then you already know that there are many issues that you can look for when it comes to your plumbing. We talked about watching out for leaks, caulking, corrosion, mildew and so much more. During this blog however, we will be discussing a few minor tests that you can do to make sure that everything is running as it should:
- Sediment can build up in your water heater. You can prevent this by occasionally draining your water heater.
- Test the speed of all of your drains. Fill up your sinks and your tub and then see how fast they drain. If your drain bubbles, makes a noise or drains slowly, you could have an issue on your hands. If you want to attempt to clear your drain on your own, then you should check out our tips for unclogging a drain.
- Check the water pressure. Turn your shower and sinks on to full speed. If you notice a decrease in the water pressure, then it may be a sign that sentiment has started to build up. If the problem is in your shower, then you should look for sentiment buildup by removing your shower head.
- A toilet that wobbles could be a sign of a toilet that is leaking or coming loose from the floor. You can ensure that your toilet is in good shape by wiggling the entire thing. If your toilet is wobbly, you can reseal it to prevent any issues from arising in the future.
