You don’t have to deal with cold showers!
There’s nothing more startling than getting into a cold shower, and if your hot water isn’t working, then you need to find out what is causing the problem as soon as you can! In our last blog, our Edwardsville plumber went over a few possible causes for your lack of hot water. If you haven’t read it yet, now is the time! Keep reading to learn about the last few things that may be causing you to lose hot water:
#4. You need to reset your hot water heater.
This may or may not apply to you, depending on the model of hot water heater and thermostat you have. Many hot water heaters have a reset button. If yours does, you could try resetting it on the highest temperature cut off your water heater will allow. This will hopefully cause your hot water to start up again, just make sure that you turn it back down afterwards.
#5. Your hot water heater is leaking.
If the pressure relief valve isn’t tight enough, it could cause your hot water heater to leak. If this is the case, try tightening the valve, and make sure that you check it regularly. However, if this doesn’t solve the problem, it could be a sign that it is time to replace your hot water heater.
